Ride Share Apps and Taxis

Avoid solicitors

Drivers who are not authorized may scam or overcharge passengers. Always use the official pick-up area outside the airport for authorized vehicles, including taxi cabs, Uber, and Lyft.

Ride apps

Getting to and from SWF Airport via ride apps

Uber and Lyft are popular ride share apps available to help you get to and from SWF easily. Follow the signs after baggage claim to find the pickup area prior to requesting a ride. A ride may only be booked via a mobile app.

To get started, download one of the apps, open the app, and follow instructions to find your pick-up location outside the airport. Always make the car’s license plate matches against the information in the app to ensure you are in the right vehicle.

Taking a taxi from Stewart Airport

Taxis are available at NY Stewart Airport. To book a taxi, you can find an Airport Customer Experience Specialist (ACES) in the Welcome Center and they can assist you in getting a cab.

Taxi safety tips

Be careful of anyone not wearing an official uniform offering transportation or luggage help. They may be unlicensed, uninsured, or operating illegally. If you are suspicious of someone, find an ACES in the Welcome Center for official help.

Taxi tips

Tipping is optional but appreciated and encouraged.

One fare pays for all passengers going to the same place.

(5 for minivans).

Don’t forget to take your receipt before you go!

Ride app costs to and from SWF

Uber and Lyft costs to and from the airport vary depending on your location, as well as the time of day. Check your app for information on exact pricing details.

Accessible rideshares

Uber and Lyft provide accessible vehicle options, including wheelchair ramps and extra space, available for pickup in front of the airport. These features can be filtered right in the app. Check your app for details.

For assistance from your gate to your ride, contact your airline prior to your flight to arrange wheelchair services.
